The art of filming
We just finished filming another Disney Talk Tuesday video. It was exciting. Of course it's Monday, but if you want to publish your content on time, you have to think ahead. You have to create something in the past, to present it on time in the future. It's kind of strange to create something days before it's presented to the present. Sound confusing? Let me explain:
Disney Talk Tuesday is an important show on my YouTube channel. It is the one show that I have an absolute commitment to. Every Tuesday I have to make sure that I publish this. Not just for the fans, but for my commitment to the craft. I know that no matter what filming I do, I have to always focus on that next Tuesday! In reality Tuesday, is the day of rest.
Wednesday it all starts over. The imagination runs wild with ideas of Disney. Disney has always had a special place in Jessica, and my hearts. When you love something so much, it's always easier to write about. Putting it all on film, different story. The planning, the strategy, the focus, all comes into play. When you see the finished product it's hard to believe all that work went into a 20 minute video. All that work for such little return.
Honestly though when you see the video you don't even recognize the preparation. Funny how it works like that. How you put sweat, and tears into a project for such a small production. Is it worth it? You betcha it is! When you get you're first comments on how good your video was, it makes you feel appreciation for everything you've down. All that hard work paid off.
The truth is critics, good or bad, helps build character. Even if you receive a bad comment, it helps you think on how you can do better. You can't please everyone but no matter what, you try to. I see mistakes in my videos all the time. Some don't, but I do. I guess it's because I'm a perfectionist. I always see flaws that I can improve on. Whether it's location, or narration, I always find something. It could be the smallest thing, and I will notice.
Disney Talk Tuesday is important to get right because it has to be. We enjoy it too much to make a mistake. Having a week to prepare we practically have the film made before we even press record. The art of filming in my opinion isn't the actual production, but it is the preparation. Knowing how it's gonna be done before you execute. I guess you can say that's a rule of life as well. Like a chess game it's always good to be a couple steps ahead. If you plan out your game before you start, you will always know how it's going to end.
